(2) 1 1/4″ Square or D-ring rings for back strap loop
(2) 1 1/4″ Wide slider strap adjuster for adjustable strap
(2) 1″ D-head inside wide lobster swivel clasps clips
(2) 1 ¼” (30mm) width plastic strap adjuster, ladder lock buckle
1 Fold and press a 1/2” seam on one short end of the back strap. Then, fold the strap in half lengthwise with wrong sides together.
2 Open the strap and fold each side in half.
3 Insert one end of the webbing loop through the ‘Ladderlock Buckle and fold the in half. Pin and baste the raw ends of the loop together to keep the loop from slipping out.
4 Place the ‘buckle holder’ onto the folded end of the strap and baste together. Fold the strap again. Fold along the center crease and press again.
5 Pin and topstitch the strap 1/8” away from the edge. Sew the top straight edge, pivot the strap, and sew down the side. Pivot the strap again, and sew the bottom edge. Repeat this process for the second strap.
6 Place the two back strap holders with right sides together. Pin and sew the strap holder, backstitching on both ends. Leave the bottom unstitched.
7 Trim the corner seam. Repeat this process for the other 6 back strap holder pieces.
8 Turn the back strap holder right sides out and press. Press the other assembled back strap holders in the same manner. Place the webbing back strap onto the strap holder as indicated on the pattern.
9 Place the other assembled back strap holder front pocket centered onto the strap holder. Pin and topstitch the holder 1/8” away from the edge.
10 Thread the back strap up behind the buckle and out again through the two bars.
11 And thread it over the ‘rung’ and back down under the bottom rung. Pull down on the strap to tighten it. Lift the tongue of the buckle to loosen it.
12 Double fold 1/2″ from the end of the strap. Sew the strap. Make the other strap in the same manner in the reverse way.
13 Pin and baste the back strap to the back piece.
