How to make the leather buckle strap

Material
(1) 20mm Wide (inner diameter) roller buckle with heel bar for front pocket
(3) Sets of 8mm (or 10mm)  double cap rivet for front pocket and leather buckle strap
(1) 20mm inner wide buckle for straps

1 Topstitch around the leather buckle holder 1/8″ away from the edge. Punch a hole in the buckle holder as indicated on the pattern. If you want to paint or finish the edge of the leather strap, see Appendixes H. Finish the Edge of the Leather Strap.LeatherBuckle

2 Insert the buckle holder through the buckle bar side. Fold the buckle holder strap and stitch together 1” away from the folded edge.

3 Or assemble the 8mm double capped rivet onto the buckle holder strap 1” away from the folded edge. See How to assemble the Double Cap Rivet.

4 Topstitch around the leather buckle strap 1/8″ away from the edge. Punch holes in the buckle strap as indicated on the pattern.

5 Thread the buckle strap through the buckle.

6 Place the buckle strap onto the exterior side of the flap as indicated on the pattern. Hold in place using fabric glue. Repeat for the other buckle strap.
